Durability
Our furniture is made from premium, kiln-dried
cypress. Cypress is a naturally decay-resistant wood, with high paint
retention characteristics. Cypress has many outdoor uses, for example,
decking docks, porch flooring, greenhouses, siding and stadium seats.
Because of its water tightness, it is also used for barrels, tanks, vats,
shingles and boat building as ell as railroad cars. One of the popular uses
is for outdoor furniture.
It is important to realize that the surface integrity of any wood product is
dependent on its degree of exposure to the elements. With high humidity wood
expands, with low humidity and high temperature wood contracts. These cycles
of change will have little effect on the finish of our product; however,
they will cause the wood to develop small checks and spits over time
depending on how dramatic and how often they occur.
Our products are designed to withstand the ravages of the weather with as
little deterioration as possible. All screws, bolts, washers, and nuts are
made of stainless steel and will never rust or stain the wood. Due to the
nature of wood these will need to be tightened from time to time. All
pre-assembled joints are screwed and glued with weathered resistant glue.
It is recommended, for the ultimate performance and life expectancy of our
products, that exposure to the harmful rays of the sun be limited if
possible. When used in shaded and covered areas, extended years of use and
enjoyment can be expected. During the winter months it is recommended to
cover expose furniture with breathable weatherproof covers.
